Resolution In Support of the Enactment of Voter Identification Laws

WHEREAS, The seal of the National Federation of Republican Women features the American Eagle holding a quill and standing guard over the ballot box, our nation’s most treasured tool of democracy;

WHEREAS, The National Federation of Republican Women seal illustrates the Federation’s advocacy to ensure the protection and integrity of the electoral process;

WHEREAS, In 2014 alone, the Republican National Lawyers Association has documented more than 14 official investigations into double-voting, non-citizen voting, non-registered persons voting, and other incidents of voter fraud across 16 states;

WHEREAS, As of April 2024, 35 states required voters to present identification in order to vote at the polls on election day. Of these states, 24 required voters to present identification containing a photograph, and 11 accepted other forms of identification. The remaining 16 states did not require voters to present identification in order to vote; and

WHEREAS, A Fall 2012 national poll revealed nearly three-quarters of Americans favor a photo identification requirement to vote; 

RESOLVED, That the Nevada Federation of Republican Women call upon our state legislature and our Nevada Governor to enact effective and reliable voter identification laws.
